Burning stress related question: how can one measure and track stress over time in a consistent manner? The closest I’ve come is heart rate variability (HRV) via the Oura ring (possibly my favorite wearable, ever).
Ooh this is a great one. I think it has to be a bit of a multi-modal approach, but YMMV in creating MORE stress for yourself if this isn't your jam.
You know I love metrics:
- Yearly (or quarterly - if I had $$$$ I'd probably do it more frequently out of pocket) bloodwork: hormonal: cortisol, cardiac-crp, etc.
- Biomarkers: HRV (although even with the Oura, I'm not sure this actually lines up to my own periods of *perceived* stress, and the new stress feature just.. doesn't really line up to actual psychological stress for me?) Sleep quality.
- Best way for me personal to track is just self assessment with my own check-in stuff. I do this once a week usually. How am I feeling? Is there anything I've been leaving nagging me? Is my overall stress level causing other bad stuff (excessive checking behaviors, etc.) The qualitative here generally feels more actionable than the metrics!

The tatte house latte is my go to. Honestly one of the best drinks that exists. Gorgeous lilacs!
